Hey Dunga You Remember Pato?
By: Ro | April 9th, 2009Pato took off with all the other Milanisti to head to Brazil for international duty a few weeks ago. He trained hard and yet had no part of the first match and for most of the second match. He says he respects Dunga and the fact that there are other players ahead of him. When he did finally make an appearance the crowd went wild screaming his name. With the final whistle being blown it ended his time with the Selecao and he returned where he belongs, to Milan. Flying 18 hours from Brazil back to Italy must have taken it’s toll on him, or maybe it was the new formation that Ancelotti tried out, because he had a lot of chances but didn’t seem able to capitalize any of them. What ever was going on with him I hope that this weekend will be different.
Pato also commented on the rumors following Kaka around like a black cloud. He says that he thinks Kaka made the right decision to stay in Milan in January and he doesn’t see him going anywhere. Well Pato I hope that you are right, because most of us Milan fans won’t be able to handle Kakagate 2.0
(sorry this post is kind of short and doesn’t have pictures but the media thing is being difficult and isn’t letting me post pictures)

Dunga frustrates me at times!! does he not see Pato running rings around every defender in Serie A each week? i mean the kid has been doing everything right of late & he throughly deserves to start for Brazil. he struggled to finish some chances at Lecce but i think its just a lack of concentration on his part despite most of them being half chances. I also agree with him when it comes to Kaka & Ancelotti staying..

I know exactly what you mean Samuel. I get so frustrated with him, almost as much as I do with Ancelotti but that’s a different story. Anyways maybe with Adriano taking a hiatus will allow Pato some playing time?

that was my exact thought Ro, i think it will put Pato in perspective a bit more but keep in mind that Adriano wasnt a regular in Dunga’s team anyhow. he’ll have to somehow manage to prove himself capable of ousting Fabiano & Robinho out of the starting 11 before 2010. he’s certainly playing better football than those two right now in Europe. if he does well in the Champions league next year he’ll give himself a great chance.

I have to admit that I don’t really follow Brazil as much as I do Italy. Since about world cup 06 is when I started following them more. He doesn’t even give him a half chance during friendlies though, I think he at least deserves to prove himself in the friendlies. All we can do is that his current form continues and Dunga finally gives him a shot.

Its o.k Ro, I’ve been following Brazil all my life although im a really young fella (16). for the most part Brazilian coaches have chosen to be patient with young upcoming footballers, it took Scolari some time to implement Kaka into the selecao, Robinho with Parreira. but out of those cases Dunga’s treatment of Pato is the most stubborn one of seen in awhile. like you said hopefully Pato will prove him wrong & Dunga will come around.

Yeah, it’s sad really because he hasn’t given him anything to not trust. The times that he has allowed him more than 20 minutes to play he has scored. He blasted Ancelotti and company for putting to much pressure on him but what about what he did during the olympics? I think there is just some bad blood between Milan and Dunga and I don’t think it’s going to get any better especially with what happened with Kaka and his injury.

I don’t see why Brazil keeps playing all their out of form talents when they have loads of young super stars waiting for the start..I mean, CMON! What the hell is Elano doing instead of Diego?? And Pato is already alot better than Fabiano. Lastly, something i haven’t understood, why doesn’t Maxwell play for Brazil?

Ro, im preety sure if Pato continues to play so wonderfly; one day Dunga will realise he’s an asswipe & will start to utalise him more. @Alex use brazil.worldcupblog.org we discuss these issues almost on a daily basis.

I agree, I just wonder how long it’s going to take for him to pull his head out of the sand to realize that.

Im hoping that he realises Pato is starting material sooner rather than later Ro, Pato is a fantastic lad & hate to see him miss out on a great W.C experience if Dunga’s reluctancy doesnt end soon. Im also curious to know why he doesnt trust ducky? the kid is the best Brazilian foward out there at the moment. he has it all.

Not sure if you check Pato’s blog, but they’ve posted something about him allegedly exposing himself on an internet webcam. What amuses me is that they’re posting this ON PATO’S BLOG, which only fuels the story, although the blog they’re linking to says it can’t even be confirmed that it’s him… Anyway, just in case you hadn’t heard: http://www.patohome.com/

Thanks Jessica but that’s not his site, that’s just a fan site. This is his actual site http://www.alexandrepatooficial.com.br/ (which I guess doesn’t work anymore)
I’m not going to comment on the story because it can’t be confirmed if it really was him…until we know more I’m not going to write a post about it.
